Rear hub
Just a thought
Does anybody sell the rear hub and flange complete or do you need to get everything separately
I am only thinking that maybe an easier option than getting bearings pressed out and rebuilt .
Thinking of doing the job on the driveway so it may be the way to go as I don't have easy access to presses and such I am thinking strip down new hub and flange rebuild or am I being silly
Cheers henda All transmission oil replaced

I've been mulling this over for when the time comes. My current idea is to buy a s/h hub and get it sorted with new bearing and back plate at my leisure then swop them over. Rear hub assemblies are not too expensive on the bay. Fortunately I have access to a hefty press.

That's not a bad idea and you never know s/hand bits maybe good to go then maybe refurb my own at leisure
I just don't fancy the stealers price at 2/3 hours a side @ there rate plus vat plus parts All transmission oil replaced

Thats the way I did mine although I have a press its just as easy to swap it all over doing it this way, I put new top and bottom bushes in, new back plates, wheel bearings and epb shoes.
The only part you might struggle with is if the drive shaft comes out of the hub on removal.
I now am going to replace the old hubs kit with new parts and keep them ready for my next job.

Rear Hub Knuckle
Hi all
Like the sound of doing this rear hub knuckle refurb just a question please, does anybody know if the D3 have the same generic pattern MY04 through to MY09 rear knuckle, and is the range rover sport the same MY as the D3 the same, they look the same knuckle on the bay they are quite cheap as said above. The only change that might have taken place is on a D4? maybe.
I was wondering about back plate fitment as well do they differ, thought I had better ask the question. I am buying a press anyway as our other car has pressed front and rear bearings so makes sense to me to have things ready for change over for both cars.
Thanks guys Andy

Was also wondering about whether a D3 hub and backplate assembly is the same as D3? In the second hand market the D4 hubs are generally a bit tidier than the older D3 ones. They look pretty identical in pictures.D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

I’d be interested at the right price. Currently looking for a used hub because of a dead wheel bearing.D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

Nice. But too much for me I’m afraid. Local indie will do the full job for less than that including all fitting etc. And used units are £35-50 if I decide to go that way. I can buy a floor press for less than £200!D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)
