Lucky that was all that was damaged
My insurance went up 100% this renewal - due to rise in claims across the board they say A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.
I repaired SWMBO's D3 myself after her bump in March - insurance company paid out to us for the parts etc.....my advice to you Wiggs, as there will be no panel damage, is to do the work yourself, they'll even pay you £30 per hour to do the work yourself.......best of all is you won't be without your D4 and driving a 1.0 litre box for 3 weeks, instead you're still on the road while waiting for parts and a body shop to spray the bumper (they allowed £150 for spraying of bumper on SWMBO's)....It's not like you need any instructions on taking a back bumper off

For a straight forward case like this where its clear cut and just a repair, all that is needed is a call to the other sides Insurer (you would guess by now the other driver will have reported the accident), give them an estimate from which ever repairer you wish to use (Its your car so its your choice of garage) and they will agree costs and authorise the garage to do the work and pay direct to them.
At the same time ask for a replacement car of the same type as yours to be delivered to the repairing garage on the day it is to go in for repair.
The other Insurer would prefer to provide the loan car at the rate they can get it for rather than you using a credit hire firm who may charge twice as much.

Mmm I think a 1.0 Corsa would have been preferable
