Rear door trim

Hi guys

Anyone seen this before on lower rear door trims? Not sure if it's fixable or if I need to replace the trim on each side, your advice is much appreciated

Hard to tell from the photo, but is this just inside the rear wheel arches? If so it’s a steel reinforced rubber strip. They do come off after a few years.

Yes those trims go baggy after a few years. Easy to swap out and fit new ones.
Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.

The Freelander 2 parts are a little cheaper but need cutting down. Did this job on my D3 last week. Fl2 part = LR001623

My searching found eBay prices are quite high for these and the D3 part.

They pull off, and new ones can be slid down and pushed on - without removing any clips or the liner etc.

Similar issue here - I baulked at those prices, and found a 5M strip of the stuff which cost me £42.

Looking at the size, probably a metre each side is needed but I've not measured. Got a mate with the same issue, so he's going to take some of that off me. If there's enough left to do another set I'll post something in the for sale forum.

In the meantime get a HP hosepipe in there and clean the crap out to help drainage. Thumbs Up

Is it safe enough to just slap the jetwash through the gap?

Can you disconnect enough of the arch liner to gain enough clearance?

Yes, but mine are worse than the ones in the photo, I just use a high pressure garden hose, I do it every time I wash the car and along the bottom inside panel of the doors. Thumbs Up

Just a quick update, this does indeed fit great. You need 2 strips of 70cm each is all.
