Hi, I am going to look at a D3 this weekend... the seller ttells me he is selling because there are bushes on the back that need replace that require the body to come off. I wasn't aware of bushes where the body needs to come off? Some jobs involving ARB and Wishbones are certainly easier with the body raised, but not off completely. Is there something I am missing?
Cheers folks

He has probably been told that by a D3 wizard.. Body does not need to come off for any suspension bushes or steering ones.

Rear ARB bushes can be a pain if somebody has already rounded the bolts before.

It may be the bush on the harmonic damper....I think you have to lift the body off to do them

Is that the stupidly heavy lumps of floating steel on the rear chassis legs?

Yep, although I can’t see why they should need rebushing! It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Even if they're rounded, the bolts on the bushes can be chopped off - they often are!
I guess if the airbag nuts on the top are rounded it'd be tricky with the body on but probably still possible to destroy them with body on such that new ones could go on with the replacement. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Has the seller said what issue/symptom led to the conclusion that they needed changing?
There's a thread about changing a front one and it didn't require a full body off just a loosening off of bolts down the relevant side and prising the body away from the chassis slightly. Not sure if that will apply to rears though...

Yes, you can lift the body enough to change the rears.
Take the rear bumper off, undo the body to chassis bolts. Easiest to undo all except the front ones, then lift the rear body, easiest on a two post, at the rear of the sills both sides.
Then raise enough renew the body mount rubbers.
