Rear brake wear sensor location

Hi you knowledgeable lot.

Is this the plug for the wear indicator? Got an intermittent warning despite new discs, pads and sensor so just wanted to check the plug location to work back from.

It’s the lower plug in the pic isn’t it?

Believe so, unless they have been moved.

1 is the wheel speed sensor and the other is the brake wear sensor

The top one in that pic. But with all new bits at the back could it be the front one causing the bother I have seen the front cable chafed by ice and snow build up during the bad weather we are having, last week my rear one was ripped out of the pad by snow causing bother to.

Must be the rear because it was on before I changed the back brakes and now it’s intermittent. The sensor was done by my local because I forgot to order it in time so was just done now when the tyres were changed.

I’m guessing bad connection but wanted to see if it was rubbing anywhere further back and can’t tell which was the right one with wheels in situ because both sensors route behind the air suspension so I can’t see properly. Just want to bridge the connection at the plug to test if it’s the sensor or wiring.

Easiest first test without jacking up

So definitely the top plug in the pic with the red and black wire?

Yes, the lower one is height sensor, there should be a third for the abs sensor that will be your only other consideration, it’s much easier just to take the wheel off..

It's possible that you have fixed the rear, and in at time the fronts may have got low???

SO inspect front left to ensure the pads are thick

Fronts all new last month.

I’ll bridge the back to see. If not, I’ll do the front
