Thank the lord these are back in operation.
Many thanks to Richard (rrhool), for pointing me in the right direction and others who have posted about this job, including highlands, for, in particular, suggesting an exhaust hanger removal tool, without which, I would still be there now trying to get the exhaust off Replacing the corroded pipes with cunifer took me a lot longer than a couple of hours on my back though
Just got to bleed new fluid into the fronts now, then change the rear propshaft, refit the heat shields, then refit the exhaust, but that won’t be for another day, or two.D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Nice looking job on those pipes

Thanks, I was able to pull the old pipes out complete, without bending them excessively, so I could create a fairly accurate pair of replacement ones. Yep, very pleased with the way it turned out. Using Automec for the cunifer pipe and brass fittings was definately the right thing to do. Glad I didn’t use just plain copper pipe, that would have been a waste of effort …..Thank you for your help in this, and the flaring aspects Richard. They should outlast the car by about 25 yrs now D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. What size pipe are the rear brake lines? I see differing size options on the website and want to make sure I purchase the right size.

@ D_M…..No, they are flared joints…….. 3/16” SAE double (inverted) flares X4 at the connections to the original steel pipes, and 3/16” SAE single flares X2 at the rear connections (to the flex hoses).
