Hi, just thought I'd ask if anyone knew whether available. I have it in my D3 HSE- was standard when I bought it in 2006- understand became an option. Doesn't appear on options list for D4- however i went on Landrover Experience driving day yesterday, where they had an "Irish spec" HSE without leather, sunroof, but with the rear aircon! I was impressed with the new engine, brakes and suspension setup, but would like to get the rear aircon if possible

Hi PaulC
I also drove an Irish spec D4 at Eastnor Castle recently and according to the Land Rover employed instructor you just have to ensure your dealer orders rear air con on your vehicle and it will be fitted foc but will not be fitted unless asked for.
Seems odd to me but thats what I was told.

I was told it's not available on the D4 when I asked whilst ordering my D4 HSE LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I think it's funny that in the UK you would need rear aircon, although maybe it's for the heating. My son who rides in the 3rd row is always complaining of being too cold, despite it being 38-40 degrees outside, so when I specced my D4 I was happy to give up the rear air. Not so happy to give up power seats and armrests but here in Oz the D4 SE (equiv to UK XS) is dearer than than my old D3 HSE. So much for the GFC driving prices down. I think LR have realised they can charge a premium now and so are benchmarking themselves against Mercedes, Audi and BMW rather than Toyota. 2005 D3 TdV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

Have you seen the price of the new Prado? or the LC200 for that matter.
Bench marking against Toyota makes for a price increase. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Is this just not available in the UK?
The Australian brochures and website still show it as available. Life is not measured by how many breaths you take, but by how many moments that take your breath away...

Rear air is definately an option. I think you can have only two of :rear air, Sunroof, rear enternainment and e-diff. Due to putting it over it's weight range. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
