Really poor radio reception.
Only had our discovery 4 a few weeks but the radio is really poor. When it’s on fm it doesn’t really sound too great. Goes fuzzy quite often and really quiet. When you switch to dab the volume is better, but the reception is really bad. Constantly dropping signal and when it is working the sound is quite often distorting. In our Nissan the signal was a lot better, although on the odd occasion that would cut out too, but nothing to the extent of the discovery. I’m on the understanding the Ariels are in the back side windows. These are tinted but surely that wouldn’t make a difference as the Ariel part is on the outside side of the tint.
I’ve tried retuning the dab for different areas but nothing seems to make a difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Neil

When my FM was really bad (I dont have DAB), it was the connections in the roof lining directly above the drivers side window at the very rear.
Pulled down the headlining above the window, fished out the box and one of the 2 ariel connectors was not plugged in. Transformed it when re attached.
Of course, yours might be totally different, but thought I would mention it.
Mines been very similar lately on both FM and DAB but I've put it down to having a winter-ready rack full of waffle boards and shovels.
Thanks for the tip, Phil. Will take a look. When you say directly above the driver'w window at the very rear, is that the rearmost edge of the drivers window or the very rear of the cabin? I know there are aerials in the two rear glass panes.

The reception on my D4 is not a patch on the old D3, DAB is disappointing in some areas it is none existent, there was a post recently about the FM signal being reduced due to work being done on the introduction of 5G.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
Might look into that rather than pull at the headlining. Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! Member of Gloucestershire & Worcestershire 4x4 Response.

Its the very rear glass in the boot that has the airels in.
The passenger side airel cable had come unplugged from the box, which sits just inside the headlining in the center of the drivers side glass. I literally just pulled the headlining down enough to get my (fat) fingers in.
