RDS in our D3 is excellent, constantly going back and forth from 98.3 to 99.0 for radio 1, no matter what they are playing! Ben

Maverick - RDS is not always an advantage My best experience with the RDS was when it decided to switch from Radio2 to SAGA when I came out of the black radio hole that is the clyde tunnel. Sad thing is I didn't notice.........

How was this determined? Given the intermittent nature of the problem, this would be my heavy favorite to be the culprit - especially after replacing the IHU.
On the HSE, there are 2 FM antennas & 2 FM antenna amplifiers, one of which selects the strongest FM signal. Spotty reception could easily indicate a failing amplifier or loose connection.
