Rattly noise when cold
Hi experts....
MY15 D4 HSE. 68k miles. On start-up from cold, a slight rattling sound which seems to emanate from near the top of the O/S/F wheel. Largely clears after a minute or two running. Sounds like a loose exhaust bracket or maybe a water-pump - that sort of noise. No warning lights or such, no leaks etc., and it's gone very quickly.
Any thoughts please?
Thanks in advance.....

It might well just be something innocuous like a loose exh heat shield, but just in case it's something more sinister could you be hearing timing chain rattle?
It's very doubtful with that mileage but how long does it take for the oil light to extinguish after the first start of the day?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Thanks, I do suspect (hope?) it's something simple - mainly as it has had timing belts, front suspension arms and prop shaft centre UJ replaced within the last few hundred miles - as well as a full service.
The oil light goes out immediately when starting from cold.
We're off on a bit of a road trip in early July, so I'd like to get whatever it is sorted before then.
Thanks

Possibly something has not been put back correctly from the belt change interval. Only way to find it is to get your head in there and try and locate it
Alternatively ask the garage to have a look on the lift for anything amiss.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Spot-on, Prof! It was a transmission shield or some such. All sorted and peace reigns (and blood pressure back to normal!).
Many thanks. 🙏

Glad you got to the bottom of it and it was easily fixable. Raises the question, why wasn't it spotted by your garage on a test run after the work?Gary

My garage didn't do the work on the front suspension or the cam belts, it was done (at my insistence) by the vendor garage when I bought the car in April. It only came loose or whatever, a couple of wees ago. BTW, my garage - a local LR Indy, put it on the ramp, found it and fixed it free and whilst I waited👍
All best,
