Yes, I think it’s a bad idea to mount anything there if you’re ever expecting the passenger airbag to deploy.

Fair enough. Finding a place to mount "stuff" is a huge pain in the neck in these cars.Chris

It’s possible to turn the airbag off, of course... there’s the on/off switch on the door side.

Re: Ram Tough-Track mounting option?
[quote="CIO"]Any thoughts on mounting one of these: https://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-TRACK-A12U
on the shelf above the top glove box? Would it be a no-go because of the passenger airbag?
Hi
Indeed plus 1 what @ kajtzu has said , saw this video the other day and wondering if this may be any use to u , ref ideas etc that are away from airbags
Must admit would adore to have a 3D printer but alas not sure about using CAD etc to draw out the designs as looks way over my head

Gstuart,
I do quite like watching their videos. There's a few on youtube now.
I would have just bought the tray though!

I keep a small box of business cards on this shelf, the plastic box being very hard and rigid.
Should nothing be placed on this 'shelf' in case of air bag deployment?

Fitted in a D4 and far better than the shallow one I took out
You can buy it with or without the fridge installed (search for the different variants).
Not sure about a D3 fitting though."Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

Their videos are great and I've watched them all. Buying a 3D printer, learning to use CAD and then experimenting like that sounds like far too much hard work to me though.Chris
