rain sensor - no good..?

I have the rain sensor and live in Norway where it can rain quite a lot. What I have noticed that whether it poors from the sky or just a light drizzle the rain sensor goes berserk and keeps working full-time, very annoying.

Changed to premium wipers but no help there, do believe it streaks for some reason. Have the same problem with my BMW, is there an easy fix for this?

Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity of the system using the rotary control on the wiper stalk. It should be possible to make the system less sensitive if that is what you want. This is the same control as for the intermittent wiper frequency.

What about cleaning the glass over the sensor - the middle top of the windscreen

doesnt work like that on mine Confused

the control on the wiper stalk has no effect on senitivity, but changes the frequency of the rear wiper.

didnt realise a sensitivity adjustment existed... have i learnt something new about my car after 5 years Laughing

Does work like that on mine. Didn't know it adjusted the rear wiper frequency though. There, we have both learned something....

The rain sensor in my 06 sucks. If you disconnect the sensor the adjustment ring on the wiper stalk acts like a standard intermmitent wiper system. Unfortunately you also lose the auto-on headlights...Your choice.

Did a little try and error this weekend; the windscreen was coated with a horrible 'traffic film' and the wipers had 2 cm with 'goo' on it. Gave it a thorough cleaning and have filled up with Turtle's high concentrate windshield wash. We use a lot of glycol type in the washerfluid during the winter, maybe this is a problem. At least it works like on&off but still not satisfied.
