Radio stays on for a while, then powers off |
|
Just curious: When I turn the engine off - that is, rotate the key all the way around but without removing it from the ignition - the radio continues to be on for quite a while (I haven't timed it) and then powers itself off. Not a drama but was just wondering if this is a configurable setting .... 2006 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver

G''Day JayCee,
The radio stays on after you turn the ignition off if You do not remove the key. I think there is a reference to this in the Audio Handbook.
Cheers,
David. Did you think I would leave you crying,

Even after you remove the key, you can switch the radio back on. It works as long as the car is unlocked. Have a nice day!

My manual states that it turns off after a hour. You can then press the button again for another hour.
The idea is that the radio won't play all night by accident and flatten the battery, but you can choose to listen to music at a picnic for as long as you dare without having to leave the keys in.
Cheers, Steve
