Quoting text from last reply in a topic
Appears to be borked, Martin.
I no longer see the option to "Quote" part of the last reply to any particular topic. I can see a "Quote" button next to other replies in the thread but it is always missing from the very last reply to a topic (which usually contains the text you want to quote). Has this functionality changed recently? I'm sure it always used to be there.
I'm on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and in Safari 7.0.
Thanks,

Yeah, it's a new feature of the site. It's aim as far as I understand is to try to control the clutter by reducing the amount of (largely) unnecessary quoting.

If need be, you can get creative & quote some of the text manually if it is relevant to your reply

I've explained about this a couple of times I'm sure (just can't find them at the moment )
This is to prevent the incorrect use of the quote button, it was being used a lot as a reply button. In the vast majority of cases it is not necessary to quote the last post in a thread, your reply will be directly under that post so it will be obvious what you are replying to.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

OK - sorry for raising it again. I've been away for a while. It feels a bit inconsistent but I understand why you've done it. Sometimes when you only want to quote a small part of a previous reply it is useful.
There are always going to be people who abuse the "Quote" button in just the same way that many of my colleagues still don't understand the difference between "Reply" and "Reply All" in their mail clients!
