Quiet rattle/whirr on autobox when pulling away
I first noticed this noise a year or so ago but now I fear it is getting louder.
There is a very quiet brief rattle when pulling away when the car gets to just over 10mph. I suspect this corresponds to a gear change. If I'm pulling away uphill, then the rattle is prolonged and could be described as a whirr. Still very quiet. I think it happens more when cold but can't be 100% sure about this.
I have carried out two partial oil changes of the auto box and that makes no difference. All prop shaft and other transmission UJs, splines and suchlike don't show any wear but mainly cos I haven't looked terribly hard.
What do we think? Transfer box? Gearbox? TC? Anything to be worried about?

That noise cured by Transfer Box oil change. I suspect that oil had not been changed in its lifetime. Was very dark and watery when I drained it.D1 300Tdi - gone
