Quick opinion on my oil pump seal please.

I have just fitted the oil pump seal. No special tool but took my time with the VictorR plastic guide. I'm 85% certain the lip is fine.

Is this pushed in the right amount/look about right or do I need to go a bit further? I read about 1-2mm proud.

Thanks

If fitting a new pump can you fit the seal into the pump or best to fit after, i understand there is a risk of stuffing the seal either way.
