Questions about features

A few quick questions for everyone. I have a TDV6 HSE, registered March 05. In the manual it says that
1) the air-recirculation button should enable me to choose between manual overried and auto. Mine only has the option to manual override. Anyone else noticed this?
2) The passengers seat does not have the tilt adjustment for the seat squab, only up and down. The driver's seat can be tilted. Again, is this normal as I can't find mention in the manual of any difference between the two seats.
3) The climate system seems to either want to be really cold or really hot, not in the middle. I f I set my old BMW three series at, say 20 degrees, the whole car was pleasant. In the Disco, I'll get an icy blast to the face and warmish air elsewhere. Any tips?
4) Has anyone notice a draft to the back of your neck / head with all the windows up? Is there a vent up there somewhere that I can't see.

Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom.

Phil

Hi,

Answers
1) I am not aware that the auto setting is on any UK spec car. My manual says it is on some models onlu (but no Uk models yet)
2) Yes - only Drivers Seat has 8 way
3) This is a known issue with the climate control system - poor blending of cold and warm air - wait until winter (you need to set the dial at over 24degrees for comfort)
4) not found this one - perhaps your face vents or those under the cubby are in a certain position ?

Thanks a lot. I also notice that the manual says I should have a vent below the steering wheel but I just seem to have blanking plate - must be another "overseas" feature!

Hello Phil,

Welcome to the forum.

I have the vent below the steering wheel. It is just a small flap about five inches below the wheel hight / angle adjuster lever.

Just push on it and it opens up.

I am sure that you must have one, it took me three weeks before I found it on my D3.

Yes, I too have the vent under the steering wheel. It took my 3 year old to find it...she said "wass at, Daddy?" as I was cleaning the car.
