Question on "life without farms"?

what was offensive about it?

Was it the image?

The swear word?

Or the fact it could have portrayed the sad image of life in the city mentioned??

Just curious Neutral

I googled the title of the thread and found the joke it referred to....

In answer to your question, was it:

Offensive?.......yes
Politically Incorrect?.....yes

Funny?........extremely Laughing (however I'm not offended by politically incorrect jokes).

I didn't see the actual post (before it was modded) so no idea if there was an image, but anyway, I can guess that it had to be removed from the site due to the tone of the joke Thumbs Up

Offensive to who? the child? if it was a white kid would it get the same reaction?

Is it offensive to the police to be called "pig" possibly but i bet they are called worse the world over!

Politically incorect? why. is it an upset to detriot or any other city than young children (whatever race) can grow up in a society where when an adult says pig the first thing they think of is the police? Possibly!

As i said just curious Neutral

As I said it wasn't even slightly offensive to me....in fact it made me laugh out loud...almost as much as NoDo$h's badger smuggling message Very Happy

But being a public forum, you have to admit that somewhere, someone would/could have found it offensive. Whether they should find it offensive or not is obviously up to them, but I can see why it was modded Thumbs Up

Anyway I shouldn't really be harping on about it as I didn't see the actual thread, just the text of the joke on another web page. Laughing

Yes it was offensive in one context. There was also some strong language that could not be blanked as it was an embedded iamge. To some it was also funny in a "satirical" aspect.

(And for the record - although my post was the last on the thread, my comments were not directed at the removal of the item but as a "bit of banter" at JMC and the reference to FFRR site).
The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
