pwheeldon 05 SE
Hi,
I have just bought a 2005 SE which needs a bit of TLC / Tweeking. I have already asked a few questions and read a whole lot more. I am planning a few mods and a lot of maintenance and thought this would be a good place to record it.
This is a brief post to get started and everything else will follow.

Technically weve been members for about 5 years as I bought my wife a RRS about then, but thank you anyway.
My brother (who we bought the RRS from) insists that the RRS isnt a land rover its a range rover. I strongly disagree as the badges, his bloody aftermarket key ring etc all say Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
However, that did give me many opportunities to wind him up by asking about his "Land Rover", a bit like when he used to go to Thai Boxing and I would always ask him about the Kick boxing. I have found that you have to get these small pleasures where you can, and he is so easy to wind up it almost takes the fun out of it.... almost!
That aside, I will be adding some pics as it is now later, then if I remember Ill get some every time I do something.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

LED Boot light
Probably the first things I did was to fit a better light in the boot. I had some of these from a previous project, so a shame to let them go to waste:

Parcel Shelf
The next was to fit a parcel shelf. The car didnt come with one so I had to buy or make one. Ideally I needed it to be sturdy so I could put tools etc on it, like the one in the Peugeot 37 estate I had just got rid of. This is what I cam up with
I need it to put ladders or tools on, so stress tested it

Roof rack
I really wanted an expedition roof rack but couldnt justify it, so I got a cheap one from eBay and added some spot lights.
I also fitted some at the back for reversing or whatever

USB sockets
We usually drive to Europe in May and one of the kids would probably be in hte boot, so I decided to fit USB and charging sockets by the back seats
I dont have any pictures of them fitted, but will get some and add them. I also need to thank member Rusty US for sending me the trim parts for free, legend!!Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

Engine cover sound proofing
Whilst doing the service the foam backing on the engine cover fell apart. I ordered some self adhesive sound proofing from eBay, and it turned out OK. It stuck to my hand as much as the cover but went on well and seems to be doing a decent job
