4 days old and a slow puncture, can these be fixed on the disco? Its a rear tyre about 5 inches in, in between the tread? Is there anything to be careful about when getting fast fit monkeys to work on the disco?
Read in the book about tyre pressure monitors, don't have the light above the stereo but are these fitted om my SE?

My cheap 'S' has no pressure monitors... so I can do this right ? Save money too...

Ally, not really but for the speed rating, they may recommend a new tyre as sealing the hole may put it out of legal requirements as they are 'V' rated.
The pressure monitors are another missing item, even on the USA versions I think, so don't worry too much.

Might be fixable, depending on size of hole.
Cannot repair sidewall damage.
Can plug a hole in the tread though- I've done it a few times from driving over nails / screws (not intentionally). Cost me £6 vs £90 for a new tyre at the time, so well worth a go.
See what your local tyre monkeys say. They might try and push for a new tyre though- depends how honest you think they are, I suppose.

I have had mine tyre-sealed by Super Seal Uk - never have to check pressures and nails/screws no problem

Be warned lads, a vehicle that can do over 100 mph with 'V' rated tyres and weighs about 2.7 tonnes, stick with the tyres the manufacturer recommends. If you have an accident and any repairs or 'add ons' are found it takes a lot of explaining in court. I never mess with tyres, brakes or steering. I never repair a damaged tyre. Speeds and weight make tyres very hot and as good as modern technology is, patches etc are add ons. Is a £130 tyre worth a life?
None of my clients repair their tyres, just replace. They also never let the tread go below 2mm, even though they could go down to 1.6mm on cars.

I'm with Brian on this one
Tyres are the bit between the vehicle and the road, they're one of the most critical vehicle components you have, never try and replace or repair them on the cheap. If you have an accident as a result of poor tyre care chances are your LR will protect you and save your life, the same probably can't be said for the person you hit. It's bad enough that you risk your own life, don't put the lives of others in jeopardy too.
As Brian says tyres, steering and brakes should never be messed with, they keep the vehicle on the road, make it go in the direction you want to and stop/slow it when you need to

Well I have had Tyres repaired for years never had a problem!
If there was such a case against this then how come it still goes on?
