Can anyone tell me please if you leave a phone in the cradle can you switch it on and off from the dashboard. As I can't wait for a cradle any longer for my 6230i so am thinking of getting a second 6230 and duplicating the sim and leaving it in the cradle at all times.

How can you duplicate a sim? is this something that your phone provider can do, or can you DIY?

If you duplicate your sim card, what would happen if you accidentaly switched both on, would your number get blocked?

I didnt think you could easily copy a sim as you havce to "interrogate" it about 150,000 times and note responses and all that, to decipher the code for encryption - least that is what I thought.
Some networks will allow you multiple sims on your account, but they [each sim] have a unique network identifier so technically they are not copies.
I would just check that it's not a sim back-up device which simply copies the sim's data but not the actual sim.
NB... I could be totally wrong about this if technology has moved on... been a long day D3 HSE V8...

Yes, you can. I cannot see why a 6230i cradle would make any difference. The 6230i is Pop-Port compatible - same as the 6230. It must be a software issue - what isn't clear is whether it is the phone, the car or both!
