Prospeed Rock / Tree slider advice

I’m looking to buy a pair of sliders from Prospeed but cannot decide between the rock sliders and the combined rock/tree sliders.
The latter seem very wide and don’t like the look of them particularly but am willing to buy them if needed.
The rock sliders are a lot more subtle but obviously won’t give as much protection

Anyone have any experience of both?

I have the combined rock/tree sliders. I have the step inserts. The addition of the step inserts makes for a very utilisable addition to the vehicle.

I don't see them as being wide and to me they are less so than the actual steps.

I appreciate I don't have experience of the pure rock sliders but I wanted a step too...

I see what you’re saying, a mate has a set of side steps on his and they seem ridiculously wide.

For me it’s what they will protect off road. I’ll be doing a fair bit of laning but can’t see my going that extreme that I’m pushing past trees etc

The rock sliders will only protect the underside of your sills from things you drive over.

The tree sliders will also help protect your doors from getting too close to gate posts, deep ruts, protruding boulders, trees etc but pushing your car away sideways.

I had the tree sliders on my D4 and they took quite a few hits (although in some cases if I hadn't had them, I'd have had enough space to get past without touching).

You can also use a high lift jack on the tree sliders which would be difficult on the rock sliders without hitting the door panels.

That’s a good point about the hi lift I hadn’t considered that!
