Prospeed ladder fitment???
Hi there,
Having purchased my Prospeed rack recently, Ben dropped my ladder off yesterday , so cracked on with fitting last night.
Fairly obvious fitment , picking up on the original studs/holes no problem.
Now as there were no instructions with it, I was left pondering the location for the 2 x rubber pieces with the 6mm internal thread, and the 2 x bolts and washers that are supposed to attach these .......where???
I remember paul ( jester on here ) saying something about three holes to drill, Ben had mentioned enlarging some holes, but as he hadn't fitted one could not advise any more, but to follow the instructions supplied
Now my father having seen said ladders tonight , had to have a climb on them , be rude not too really and whilst watching him climb aboard , I was slightly shocked at how much the upper tailgate flexed at the lower corner near the n/s rear light.
This then got me thinking, were these rubber items supplied , somehow supposed to attach in a way to butt up against the inside aperture of the C pillar to stop the flexing??
Sorry for the ramble, just needed to explain clearly, so please any info from Prospeed ladder owners/fitters.
Many thanks,
Nick Procrastination is the thief of time!!

I have the instructions on PDF from when I fitted mine.. drop me a PM with your mail address and I'll send them over.
Text without the photos is:
1. Place helicopter tape on the top of the rear door where the lip on the ladders top step will sit.
2. Remove the screw currently securing internal boot handle.
3. Remove trim around the upper tailgate latch.
4. Remove the interior plastic panel that runs along the rear door.
5. Disconnect the number plate light switch.
6. Undo the five bolts and two nuts currently holding the plastic panel above the number plate.
7. Remove the two plastic clips from the panel. Do NOT shut the boot once the handle has been removed
8. Re-drill the holes that were previously used for the retainer clips on the back of the plastic panel. Use a 12mm drill bit. Also drill up through the right hand side (drivers side) hole to make enough clearance for the rubber nut. Then insert the rubber nuts
9. Clean off the surfaces ready for mounting the ladder.
10.Remove the backing from the double sided tape underneath the top step of the ladder.
11. Hook the ladder over the rear door and sit into position.
12. Fasten into place using the two hex head bolts each with a washer. Before fully tightening the two bolts check to make sure the ladder is aligned with the lower holes.
13. Fit the plastic panel back into place above the number plate.
14. Reconnect the light switch.
15. Finally, re-fit the interior rear door panel.

Hi Badgerade,
Thanks for the reply, I can sort of picture what you mean, though bearing in mind there are 7 other bolts fastening this section of the ladder, what purpose do the rubber threaded additions actually serve??? Other than to make you drill and expose bare metal and get swarf everywhere!
Would be interested to know the reasoning behind them, I may ask Ben next week when they are open again.

Badgerade. Many thanks for this post, it is of great help. I have sent you a pm in the hope that your offer of sending out a PDF may still be open.
Johnny at Prospeed put mine on but think the two bits you mention are for inserting into the two holes you need to enlarge.Paul.

Think the rubber enlarges as you tighten the bolts and helps hold in place.
