Prop shaft bearing housing
Hi all, had car in main dealers for service on service plan so had them do 2nd MOT at same time. Schoolboy error but forgot to change reg plate over to correctly spaced one so got a fail but also got fail on “ prop shaft bearing housing likely to fail “ is this a common fault as car only done 43,500 miles and I would’ve thought things should be lasting longer than that. Luckily covered on extended warranty. Thanks in advance Alan02 Defender 90 TD5

Very common problem for the rubber to deteriorate on the centre prop bearing. Usually, the universal joint at the rear is also shot. The best option is to fit a new prop and it's easy enough to replace.Kev
