Projector puddle lights not working??
I’d seen a ffrr with projector puddle lights with the silhouette of the car, I like them so I was bought a set from powerfuluk, the lights look great quality but won’t work? Could they use less power than a standard led causing them not to light?

Also just thought u may also need to turn them on with diagnostics
What vehicle were they fitted on plse , always easier if u fill in ur profile

Thanks for the advice , I’d already filled in my Land Rover profile but it doesn’t seem to appear, Iv now added a signature. Plug will only fit one way and the car already had puddle lights so I would have thought they would already be enabled? But might be an excuse to buy an iid tool lol.2015 D4 HSE Loire Blue

If you put the lights you had in there back in and work then i would say the new ones are faulty no need to edit the ccf if the car already has them fitted i would think Discovery 3 se gone
Range rover sport supercharged here:)
ok ... looked them up. full unit, not just LEDs (should have worked that out as they're logo projectors )
does say stuff about them not working for some cars ...

These modules are the latest design with a timer integrated into the design that turns the light off after 30 seconds (estimate may vary on vehicles) to conserve power and protect the LED from overheating.
If you have changed any of your light units to LED the units may not be suitable with your vehicle tolerances but you can return them for a refund if the lamps do not work for you.
Please note these are only compatible with the HSE models - the more basic models do not have these lights fitted and do not have the wiring in the door either.
These are not genuine Land Rover parts.
Fitting Details
Please note, later vehicles may require 2 x 100ohm/2w resistors to make them work.
But I don't believe all that is true. my XS has puddle lights as did the GS before it.

Yes possible resisters may help. Iv tried a search on google but I couldn’t find anything, I’ll try ringing powerful UK tomorrow to see if they can shed light on the situation. No pun intended. I’ll post my findings it could help someone else.2015 D4 HSE Loire Blue

Funny enough my D3 being the base model they weren’t fitted , just had to cut the bottom trim out and the wiring was there, also we’re plug and play
But alas assume the D4 being different ???

Had a play around tonight with the thinking of the projector bulb may need less power so the car doesn’t notice the voltage so won’t power the cable? Iv inserted the led bulb then chained the projector from the bulb (hope it makes sense) and hey presto they work, so I’m thinking I need some sort of resister but of what type I’m not sure.2015 D4 HSE Loire Blue

powerful also sell the resistors for £32011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten
IIRC ... Usually, to fool the D3, resistors were parallel with the LED, so more current is drawn and the car thinks you have ordinary filament bulbs..

Don’t forget that they won’t always work. If you unlock the car and open the door, they shouldn’t come on. Only when you exit the car should they come on. The rational being that when you walk up to the car and open it, the approach lights on the mirrors illuminate the ground. When you leave the car, those lights don’t illuminate the floor enough when exiting so the door puddle lamps are used.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

mine come on when you open the unlock and open the doors from the outside and also when you open the door to get out, I don't have the under mirror puddle lights.
ive just bought a cheap set of 4 x logo projectors of fleaby for mine as my standard passenger door light had failed and the 501 LED bulbs I have didn't work... ive now used the bulbs in the all the overheard lights and all working fine there though 8)2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten
From my Freel2 days when changing them to LED, they are on a timer, if the door was left open for a while the power to them ceased, the LED’s would not work straight away after fitting them as I’d had the door open a while, you had to close the door and open it again, worth a try.
