Powering lights from twin electrics
Hello,
Does anyone know what the maximum power I can draw from twin electrics on the back of the D3 is please? I'm thinking of mounting some work lights on the back of my trailer and wondering if I can just stick a long lead and a plug on the end and plug them into the spare white towing electrics connector? I've got some old Safari 3000 lights in the garage that I thought I could use. Can't remember what they were rated at though...
Thanks,

Another post about finding a perm live for a DVD seems to make the rating 40amps to the white socket.

Thanks very much.
Based on:
Pin 1: yellow -reverse
Pin 2: blue – battery charge (pre 99 caravans) post 99 caravans spare
Pin 3: white –earth
Pin 4: green – permanent live
Pin 5: brown – spare( pre99 caravans) (post 99 caravans ,extra earth to go to pin 7)
Pin 6: red – fridge
Pin 7: black – earth
I'm assuming that then I can just connect my lights (up to 480W (P=I*V) in total - though it's likely to be about 200W) straight to a long lead/plug wired to pins 3 and 4? Would you agree?
Thanks,

Yes, or you could use the bright LED solution that Wiggs & a couple of others have done at a fraction of the power. I'll just try and find the link.....

Ummmmm, Pin 2 and the other charge one used to charge battery in van etc, is this like a dual battery isolator thing, can this be conected directly to a aux battery to charge it when the engine is running and not discharge the main battery when stoped Or have I got this all wrong

Here are the colours and pins for the plugs in the rear cubby hole

If you want a copy pm me with an email
The numbers next to the plugs (bottom picture ) are the pin numbers
Example C1381-6 ...6 being the pin number ..but you should be able to go by the colours.
And remember .." if in doubt ..get your multimeter out " G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
