Power fold mirrors on a D3? Would be really handy but...
I've got an HSE and it doesn't have them. Is it a 2006 option or new feature?

Chris
Are you sure? In the UK (at least), you set the mirror control to the central position, then press the whole "joystick" downwards to fold the mirrors in.
Maybe RTFM? Maybe you do have it after all.....

Yes Chris,
Even on the somewhat stripped out Irish Sepc cars you get power-fold mirrors.
Surly on an "Oz" HSE you have to have PF Mirrors !!!
I have them on my "SE", but my mate has an "S" & would love to have them too.
Hence my question..............anybody ?????

Got power folding mirrors(UK 06 HSE), great for all the cycle lanes in Cardiff, cyclists don't give a stuff. Just wish they were automatic on switching off ignition or locking!
Wife's 06 S no PF mirrors, never mind!

If you ever crack this, let me know, as I wanted these too, but because I took an already built D3 I didn't get the chance to specify them as an optionSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Looks like I may have to take the mirrors off mine & check them against the wiring on my mates “Sâ€.
I’d rather not, so I think I'll wait a wee while to see if anyone with info might post.
I do have a pretty good relationship with the Service manager at my dealer, so I might go & see if we can look up the wiring diagrams. Although he’s usually very busy & I don’t want to bug him.
Not to mention HIDs (Xenons) on our SE. We don't get Harman/Kardon, 6CD in them though. Our MY05 SEs (Like mine) didn't get Leather Seats either.
Nor do we get Standard Nav or Logic 7 in our HSE.
I think we are ripped off, somewhat.

Just checked our '06 TDV6 SE and no power fold mirrors either. Will check sister's HSE and report back.
Different specs for different countries. That's what's confusing.
Here in SA, on the SE we get the zenons, full size spare, leather seats, tow pack, 6cd HK medium spec radio , but no mudflaps, no door protectors.
They skimped on the cheap stuff but at least we get the important things like great lights, being able to load 60+ albums for the long trips, and being able to tow anything you can hook. I doubt a 4X4 would sell in SA without a towbar as standard. Doesn't look like this bears any resemblance to the UK or OZ "SE" spec, which is strange 'cos lots of us are of UK descent, and OZ gear goes down well here. (rugged terrain, rugged people etc )
What ticks my missus off (and my sister - HSE driver) is that there is no heated seat option like we had in our D2 TD5 ES. Apparently their little bums get chilly sometimes...
I imagine some market research genius put together what they thought was the best spec for each country. Funny they never phoned me to ask what I would like...
I think it's the same here, with the seat heaters. We might get them standard in HSE spec.
We're way off topic now, but somehow I managed to get a Cold Climate pack (seat heaters front and rear/electrically heated windscreen/fuel burning heater) and a rear diff lock with out specifying them.
Cool, huh?

Oh yeah, Diff lock we get on all spec's apparently. At least I can see the actuator and wiring on top of ours so hopefully its there. Not that we have used it yet.
Well if anyone comes up with an answer on the mirrors let us know. It would be very useful in our lovely tight parking spots

Fuel burning heater?? When the heck you going to use that?
Rear diff lock is a bonus though.
They must have really screwed up your order. Which side do you drive from

The poor old Yanks don't even get a locking fuel flap. In the early days before release there was talk that all models would come with towbars, I'm glad some of you get them, the rest of us have to pay £400 factory fitted. On an aside regarding heated seats, I bet the wiring is there, can you not get your dealer to connect it up? Or yourself?DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
