Took the D3 to get the Autologic power upgrade applied. Anyway it appears after much messing around the garage have been unable to apply the upgrade.
They have been on the blower to Autologic for advise and may have to send their computer back.
What appears to be happening is that they can download the firmware/file from the D3 but when they try and upload the new file the D3 starts to wakeup so they have to abort.
Anyone else had this issue or any ideas what is happening? 2012 D4 - SDV6 XS - Firenze Red

As an autologic user we have had this problem and it is because the autologic unit is not up to date with the latest versions of LR software.
This the downside of using a tool with 'off the shelf' tuning files....sometimes the tune you need hasnt been put on the shelf yet.
If you went to someone like TFC then he could read and write your car ecu without the issues above

But my vehicle is two years old.
The garage have already performed upgrades on two or three RRS but think this could be the first D3. 2012 D4 - SDV6 XS - Firenze Red

It will be a software update issue...some earlier versions of LR software could not be identified correctly and it allowed the user to select the software but when you started to program the car it would fail every time

Please PM me your contact details. I won't comment here just yet on what was happenning, as on Friday we did not get all the necessary details to suggest a solution.
However, Powerclick / Chris has got it wrong. The Autologic files are up to date as soon as LR release the originals. When we tune a vehicle, the latest file for that vehicle variant is loaded into the ECU.

Ill back ADB here by saying there are many possibile causes for a write fail and its not always as simple as a software revsion problem.
Some cars do read fine and for some reason they dont always write back very good, its normaly something very very simple or something that has been over looked by the tools user.
In 99.9% of cases all tuning work with most of the tools available that remap/program cars all does go fine but in some cases there can be problems.
Also in some cases it can be hard for "Head Office" to sort out a dealers problem if for some reason the information given is not complete or incorrect.
I must admit i dont preend to know the ins and outs of the Autologic tool as i dont use this for my tuning i have my own maps and tools.
But If the file "Was not on the shelf" as suggested already the tool should not attempt to even start to write the ECU.
Bide your time im sure there is a very simple reason for the problem in this case.
Regards Pete

I would say persist with trying to get the Autologic power upgrade as when it is done you should be more than happy with it.
I have mine on an 06 56 plate which has now got 36,000 miles on the clock and I would not like to go back to a standard vehicle.
Mine went on first time with no problem - I was a guinea pig for the chap who did it and the overall driving experience is far better than the standard. Wish I had a D3, but at least I now have a Landie - YIPEE

Gees ferret,
You're apparently much more easygoing than I.
More power to you.
