Did a cold boot on mine, lag back again. Probably the Auto box has to learn again. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Welcome to the low-emissions world of EGR and butterfly valves (which work on the overrun into your roundabout and make sure that the air flowing through the engine is minimal hence no boost AND what is in the cylinders is recirculated exhaust crap).
As said a Tune by a reputable chap will largely sort it out, also blanking the EGR valves and removing the butterfly valve but on your 2008 I think the ECU will throw a fit of lights and bongs.
Certainly the difference in the lag between my 2005 D3 (tune and blanked/removed valves), and our 2007 RRS (tuned only), is huge... Cheers

I think i will have to put up with it until i get a remap done by TFC. Mind you it wasn't that evident before i got it serviced, maybe the gearbox is still learning again
Don't want to be messing with the EGR and butterfly valves as simonsi says the D3 might start throwing a hissy fit. POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

but if you've got an EGR sticking, a tune isnt going to sort that.

If an EGR is sticking, then there will be DTC's stored, get the dealer to check it (I always check for engine DTC's prior to applying a remap anyway) Could also be more evident as the TDV6 performance drops off slightly as the oil gets older, maybe now it's got clean(er) oil in it, the lag is more noticable because the engine will rev more freely?

I've had serveral 'conversations' with LR about the delay. End result, it's within tolerence.
I asked them to put some figures to that, I.E. press the pedal and engine respond's within 5 secs. Is that within tolerence? They couldn't/wouldn't tell me how they calculated 'within tolerence'.
Really pee'd me off. Teflon shoulders!!
Such a shame the software messes up a good ZF box.
