Potential user
Hi all. I am looking to get a diagnostic tool for my d3 reading through the forums it seems most on here are using the IID tool but you can’t a layer files on the car it seems unless you get the pro version costing £1600 ish and the evo is £500 ish so surely the evo is better.
Am I correct in thinking this or not. I think I read also about needing a licence for a evo. Seems a lot to take on and wondered if there was any impartial thoughts
At the mo I have a lynx setup from when I had a d2 which worked superb. Un locking that for a d3 will not programme so seems a no brainier on a evo
Any thoughts Many thanks all

Can not get the 4x4 enabled though. Maybe I used the wrong term but the iid cant unless you buy the pro which seems a lot of cash. Maybe just me.
The evo seems more sort of comprehensive. Having not used either unit I just wanted needed some impartial thoughts on stuff

You can do loads with the IID including activating the 4x4 screen.
I've had Nanocom and Hawkeye for earlier Discoveries
Im just glad I went for the IID with my latest Discovery.
Brilliant tool and does just about everything on the motor.
The Customer Service is 2nd to none after being rubbish with Nanocom

If it's just for your vehicle, the weapon of choice is the IID Bluetooth.
Yes, they're expensive and yes there's cheaper tools out there but for all round practicality, usability, flexibility, you'll not beat the IID tool. Mods:

They are about £400 aren’t they so cheaper than an evo. I would never bother with a icarsoft as no point
