Is it possible to drive without EPB module? |
|
Hi. I have removed my EPB module, cables and shoes etc. to be sent off for repair. Without it plugged in the car, understandably, shouts out a load of faults and refuses to even turn over. Is there a way to override this and start the car, or do I need to wait until I get the EPB module back from the repairers. I'm sending it off to a place in Blackburn that seem to come highly recommended on here? Anyway, cheers, Jord.

It might be worth taking the fuse out and see if that helps.
Edit..
When mine was screaming at me I took the fuse under the bonnet out until I got it sorted. It took out the cruise control and a few other things as well.

Check the wiring diagrams, I think the CAN bus wires are connected into the circuit via the EPB module which means they go in and then come out again. This way the module needs to be present even if not functioning for the vehicle to work.
Pulling the fuse simply switches the module off but the wiring is still linked together. 1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

what was the verdict in the end? Can it be driven with the EPB removed?
