Very Poor Radio Reception - Base Radio |
|
I have had my D4 Commercial for 6 months nearly and ever since day one have not been happy with radio signal.
When travelling around the country it seems to more often than not be crackling and if it is not crackling it is unreadable altogether.
My D3 was not like this.
Has anyone experianced this or does anyone know what could be checked. I understand that there are aerials in both the rear windows.
The dealer does not seem that interested but I will start to push harder. perhaps I sould right to LR UK?
Thanks for any advice
PS the car is a leased company car D4 Commercial June 2010

Sounds like the antenna is not well connected or not connected at all. Have the radio taken out and the back checked to see if the antenna connector sits properly in its socket. If it does, I would check the antenna amplifier. Don't know about the D4, but in the D3 the antenna amplifier sits high in the tailgate, just beneath the braking light.... Poor reception is a standard "feature" on the base stereo. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
