Seem to have a prob with the above. When I select Fuel Stations on the POI screen and return to the map they don't seem to show on the map, nor does the parking area's, other POI's do Am I missing something I'm sure on my 2006 my I could select the fuel brand stations e.g. Shell or BP etc, can't seem to do that either, it just shows Petrol Stations which I highlight then nothing on the map Any Ideas

They won't show if the scale is wrong. You need to be on the large scale mapping (unless you've tried that).

Thanks for the reply Nigel, yeah tried that down to max scale. Tried yesterday went past two BP and one Teaco none showed on map. Can,t understand it it's on a brand new 12my, can't see if i am doing something wrong as no probs on my 06my with latest map disc. Prefer to sort it myself but I guess it's a trip to the dealers

I seem to remember this topic being on the forum a short time ago and there is a simple fix for your problem I think. Try the search facility under "POI".

Look on "In car Electronics" sub forum (same as this) for 12th Sept under the heading "SatNav problem" and the way to solve your problem is there
Cheers

It's actually on this page, sorry...see Oct 18th. Scroll to an entry by "Dinsdale"(page 2), he gives you a step by step guide on how to retrieve the POI's

Thanks again for that Paul Unfortunately I think my prob is different. I don't have any greyed out buttons, and the POI button on Page two is showing on Some POI's are on the map e.g. industrial sites and shopping centers although I have not selected these. The petrol stations are highlighted orange on the quick POI screen but just don't show on the map Looks like I will have to succumb to visiting the dealer, it's all abit weird me thinks

Hi DeeJay.
My fix was for total loss of POIs because of selecting the POI OFF button on the main SatNav menu. Your problem obviously is different. (P.S. to anyone else, the Handbook says you can switch POIs ON and OFF via the POI menu button. Take it from me it is WRONG and you CAN'T It ONLY allows a SWITCH OFF. Hence the very complex fix to get 'em back)
However I am sure if you STILL have some POIs showing it will be because you have NOT correctly selected the PETROL stations bit.
It is there in my original fix under the supernummary bit for people with ONLY PhDs rather than Professors of Rocket Science Have another fiddle under the multiple selections section and watch that you haven't set it to show ONLY VERY local stations as this is possible to do and of course if you don't have any especially nearby then it won't show any UNTIL you move into range of some.
Doesn't sound like an actual fault to me, it must be a settings problem. I doubt the dealer will help unless they not a hell of a lot about exactly how the Sat Nav works.

Mine springs into life for POI petrol stations when the fuel drops below a certain level!!
When the satnav is showing a route it is very active once it detects that you do not have enough fuel to complete the journey. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

That's an automatic safety feature Ted and happens even if you have not already set the POI to show Fuel Stations.
DeeJay's problem seems different to me.
The risk I found with doing fiddling on your own system, as happened to me when I was first trying to find the original fix, is that you can bug up your own system and not realise what you did and so end up blocked out as well
