PM Sent (was in FS: Bits and pieces ) |

Unless they have specifically switched off PM notifications, the recipient will receive a popup notification AND an e-mail with the full PM contents in, so they will know you've send them a PM - the rest of the DISCO3 community don't need to know!
Thanks for your co-operation.
Martin
Actually... I've seen this on a few forums, but IMHO I think it IS worth seeing... means anyone else looking at the posting of a "for sale" item, can see if there have been half a dozen PM's on the subject or none (assuming everyone has put a post up saying if they have PM'd or not)... personally I can't see why a "PM post" is a problem (although on one forum I've used the admin changed the std PM sent message to "I touch goats" or similar )
Feel free to put me in my place though 'cos I'm newish here and I've yet to take proper ownership of my D3 (although it should be within the next week or so... deposit paid )

Ah, I guess you are the type of guy who sends someone a text or e-mail and then calls them up to tell them you sent it eh
It's a waste of time, energy and bandwidth ....we don't want to encourage it here thanks. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Don't agree "It's a waste of time" I agree with IainC but I suspect what I think doesn't matter

I had a PM from someone that I had completely missed and was prompted yesterday to check my PM's when he said in another thread that I had a PM from him, again a valid use and yes I should check my PM's, but I forget or if I'm on the iphone, I don't see that I have them.
Valid for me too, but as IainC & Budweiser also find it useful, it's against the 'rulez'. Still, at least they haven't stopped people using the BUMP post to get the post back to the top.... yet.... Bodsys Brake Bible

I can't believe you're all so disorganised ....especially you Ian

There are, as ever, pros and cons of having PM sent messages - policy is not to have them as there are loads of notification methods - email (with full text), popup, InfoBarâ„¢
If you've not received a reply to a PM, then it may well be valid to publicly nudge someone, but not in the first instance 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!
