Rob, Duratracs have the Snowflake on the shoulder of the tread. I’m on my 3rd set & have had no issues over a variety of terrain & mixed conditions.
Some info below re alternatives
Updated Info:
All 255/55 R19 111XL.
some availability in other sizes
In order of aggressiveness & availability. All bar the last are AT’s.
Pirelli Scorpion ATR (H Rated M&S no symbol) - Not used them, never been a big Pirelli fan due to fast wear rates though others rate highly.
Scorpion At+ (H Rated, 3PMSF) - New to market, not used
GGAT3 (H Rated ❄️) Based on the AT2 which I’ve used along with the AT, not used these, however a good compromise for rd/off rd, noisy when worn, a favourite of many.
Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure (H Rated M+S but no symbol) - Relatively new to market, not used.
Apparently a new offering due soon touted as the long awaited replacement for the fabled MTR.
Cooper Zeon LTZ (H Rated)- Removed mine after 9 months as I found them to clog up in mud & skittish in the wet. Nuff said. NOW BEING PHASED OUT!
Cooper AT3 Sport (H Rated M&S No Symbol).
Replacement for LTZ Not used & only just on the market.
New winter rated AT tyre due 2019
Toyo Open Country + (H rated M&S No SymbolAgain not used them
Goodyear Duratrac (Q Rated M&S ❄️) - As fitted to the London-Beijing D4’s, speed rating downgraded (from S) as they are now classed (along with below) as a Pro Comp Tyre, on my 3rd set & love them, no issues in any surface I’ve met inc heavy snow.
GGX3, (Q Rated) - the only MT offering, not used, good reviews.
Above taken from elsewhere.
Reginald - look forward to more feedback over time
Cheers. PaulPaul.

Note that a snowflake ❄️ on the sidewall is not the same as a three peak mountain and snowflake 3PMSF
2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)
2009 D4 HSE TDV6, Bali blue (first run D4)

Fully aware of that hence the distinction the text.
Snowflake - manufacturers mark indicating they feel suitable & gives an enhanced performance but with no benchmark test
3PMSF - confirms to tests giving enhanced grip & braking over a set criteria & recognised by relevant industry bodies, tyres usually a different composition with added silica to prevent hardening in colder conditions (considered to be below 7°C). Paul.

Well I know you know Jester my comment was aimed at those for whom it might be less clear, who are searching for a tyre and might be swayed by sales speak about snow tyres with the ❄️ symbol when they are wanting a winter tyre with 3PMSF symbol.
Confusion not helped by the manufacturers themselves with info like this on their own website for the Duratrac, stating at the same time it is a summer tyre and it’s good for snow and it has the ‘Mountain Snowflake’ symbol.
The GG AT3 has the 3PMSF and is usually quite a bit cheaper than the PAT+ so that might help folk make the choice.2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)

The Duratrac was available with the 3PMSF on it except for the size used by Land Rover i.e. 255/55/19, for some reason. It was suggested on this forum that this was at the behest of Land Rover but no idea why that should be so.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I’ve been speaking to Goodyear directly after spotting some on holiday prior to Christmas
“There is no call in the European market for specified winter tyres that carry the 3PMSF symbol & there are no plans to introduce them”
despite the fact that in some European countries winter tyres are mandatory. We all know it doesn’t make make sense but hey we’re only the end user.
Reginald - seriously looking forward to reviews on new boots, SWMBO needing to reshod soon, Duratracs overkill for her needs & not been happy with precvious incarnations of GG/increasing reports of excessive damage to rims/headwear puts me offPaul.
