Please help a would be new owner - 06 S with toys or 07 XS ?

Hello everybody - great site.

I am about to take the plunge with my first LR and am torn between the two options available to me.

I am looking at a TDV6 auto and have a choice between either an 07 model XS with no extras bar dealer fitted privacy glass and mats or one of two brand new unregistered 06 S models. One of these has navigation, full size spare and PTI whilst the other has leather, full size spare and PTI. The deals I have before me are for as near as damn it exactly the same cost per month. Both of these will also get the dealer fitted glass and mats.

The extra toys on the S models (including the heated seats vs the powerfold mirrors on the XS) are appealing but should I be more concerned about other things such as the possibly better build/reliability on an 07 plus the revised engine managment system ?

Can anybody offer a view ?

Many thanks in advance. Thumbs Up

RSK

I got the heated seats in the XS. Dont know if this was a cross over thing or if they all come with it, I know LR say they don't but other people on here have mentioned that they got them as well. Maybe worth checking with the dealer. The MPG is supposed to be better with the 07 but a few people have nticed the engines are a bit noisier at low revs / low loads than the 06 models. Hope this helps

I think the Sat Nav 06'S would be the one to have - thats worth a four figure sum on its own

It costs a 4 figure sum. Whether it's worth it or not is debatable. Wink
