Pleasantly surprised....
Living by the coast,we have a very salt-laden atmosphere, which shortens the life of most things made of metal.....brake discs are a particularly popular victim of a shortened lifespan round here.
When I got my car,I thought long and hard about getting it Waxoyled.....but like most things,it got put on the back-burner and it got forgotten about.
My dealer flagged up corroded rear discs last week (no surprise there) so I put the car up on a mates 4-post ramp today, and had a good long look round with an inspection lamp to see if there was anything else showing signs.
It's lived here for over 18 months, and done 30k miles since I have had it,and the underneath was clean as a whistle.....I'm not sure what I was expecting, but living where I do,and with a Local Council who liberally salt the roads for 5 months of the year,I certainly wasn't expecting it to be so clean....."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
