Yes, stop when it starts to click. It doesn't tighten up much.

Good luck. You may be about to convert to a new metal pan with filter! Thumbs Up

Don't suppose you have a part number do you?

I'd like to get a spare incase it happens to me when I change mine next.

Cheers

Hiya

For a D3 , ZF 6 x speed , The drain plug part number for the auto gearbox is TYB500020

Filler / level plug , part number LR007610

Also some torque settings

transmission fluid drain plug 9 Nm (7 lb.ft).

filler/level plug and tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb.ft).

Also for a D4 , there’s a 8 x speed kit https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/lr065237...8586-p.asp

Hope that helps
