A pillar leak

Was sat in my disco today out of the pouring rain and felt water dripping on my knee, anyone able to tell me where this is likely to be coming from? It’s not the sunroof drains as these are flowing fine.

*edit* tried to upload a picture but it won’t post. Its dripping at the top right corner of the windscreen.

Did you ever find the culprit on this? I have the exact same thing happening, no sunroof on my model either.

Search for Technical Bulletin LA-501-006 and repair kits DHB500400 & LR077843

More info here https://disco4.com/forum/topic174173.html

I also ran some Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure into the top of the windscreen.

Could also be the body seam that I found to be leaking on my D3:

I have the same problem with MY2016 Discovery Sport - roof leaking (no sunroof). Started occurring after dealer delivery (before first service). Multiple failed inspections including pointless replacement of windscreen.

The cause is as outlined in JLR LTB01176 Technical Bulletin Water Ingress Through the A Pillar - Upper Area, published 29-Mar-2018. Known manufacturing fault - water ingress stains on the ceiling between front passenger grab handles and top of the windscreen, caused by certain body panels being manufactured away from the required specification.

Going through consumer tribunal ATM to get car replaced with new or used vehicle of same or higher specs, with max. km based on calculated km travelled (from annual service statements) either side of 29-Mar-2018, being the date of issue of Jaguar Land Rover Technical Bulletin LTB01176. Yawn

Completely different vehicle, design and structure - they share nothing but a badge.

Same concern at same location as Farmer Joe, so related to same faults and reliability issues across the brand.

"Recognising the need for improvement in reliability, JLR acknowledges that past emphasis on high sales volumes may have contributed to the issue, and conceded that some consumers may have been burned by poor ownership experiences as their expensive premium SUVs spent days inside dealers' workshops.

Andrew Woolliscroft, client care director for Jaguar Land Rover, acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead in implementing these transformations, and that addressing reliability issues to ensure the success of the strategy.

Warranty repairs for the company's latest models have decreased by a third since 2020, he said, and more progress is to come, while JLR must also ensure that any issues which arise are overcome by an outstanding customer experience.

Dealers, and JLR's vehicle recovery partner, will play a significant role in identifying and resolving faults more quickly to improve overall customer satisfaction."

and… Data from the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM reveals that Land Rover doesn’t have a reputation for reliability. Owners report an average of 284 repairs per 100 Land Rover vehicles sold, which makes the automaker rank 32nd out of 32 brands.
