Picked up my new D4
Hi All,
I've been scanning through lots of the articles on this site for the best part of a year while I was thinking about buying a D4.
I wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who posts here as its really helped me out. Have to say I like the balanced opinions expressed by everyone and the wealth of information available.
I picked up my new D4 XS (Indus Silver) on Saturday and before I stepped inside I got my first case of Permagrin. I'd read about it before but this was the first time I'd experienced it. The Mrs is now threatening to buy me a teeth whitening kit its got so bad.
The dealership were outstanding (both service and price), the car is simply the best I've driven and no signs of any issues (but I've only covered a 100 miles or so). Its unbelievably quiet and the 8 speed transmission is super smooth. Have to say I have found myself driving with no radio on just so I can listen to the engine. Is that a bit sad?
All in all its been an outstanding experience so far. I'm glad I went with the side mouldings and the privacy glass. Only possible regret is not buying the reversing camera but I'm managing so far. Its always the way with cars. You can keep adding extras for ever and you have to stop at some point.
Thought I'd upload a picture of the car as I always like looking at owners cars when I browse the site.

Thanks again to all those who post.

Hi Euan, It is Pentland so you must have spotted our car. We went with the silver just for ease of maintenance. Dont think you can go wrong with any of the colours as they are all good.
Cheers.

Very nice indeed
You'll be surprised how quickly you will get used to reversing using the standard reversing sensors, though the reversing camera is useful for attaching trailers etc....2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Black is where it's at ........ it even rhymes so it must be true!
Lovely looking car.
I've had mine for 3wks now & love it, it's only a 2.7 GS so hasn't got many bells/whistles but it's so smooth, quiet & it eats miles for breakfast without blinking.
Mine was sold to it's first owner by Pentland and has been well looked after.
Enjoy.Nick
