Phone Stuck on Dial when Bluetooth Connects 2011 (12MY D4)

I have this odd situation since yesterday.

Firstly, the audio on the system took an age to come on, it seem greyed out when I started the car, and only came to life about 10 minutes into the journey. Before this there was no audio, and the only response I got was "Audio Off" when I pressed the power button. Not sure if this is at all related to the next point, which is the real issue now...

As soon as I connect my iPhone (5s) via bluetooth, the in car system shows it is dialing a number from my phone. Now, as this happens, it mutes the music over bluetooth. The phone itself is not dealing, and shows no attempt to dial. I cannot seem to hang up via any of the car controls. The only solution is to disconnect in the phone options in the car, and hence keep the bluetooth music/audio going.

I have tried to un-pair and re-pair the phone, even after unpairing and leaving the car off overnight. No joy, same issue. Any advice?

Try a hard reset first - details in the wiki.

Robbie, is it necessary to really remove the -ve terminal? Mine is quite awkward to get out, and I wonder if I can simply remove the +ve and use a jump cable to put the two in contact?

Otherwise it looks like I need to remove the battery, as the -ve cable is tight to the bulkhead, and under the lip at the top of the bonnet area.

Ok, so I tried the hard reset, although did not remove the negative terminal, as it seems to require the battery out and I didn't have a socket to hand to fit the battery retaining plate nuts. However, I connected the removed +ve to the -ve with a jump lead, left it for 30 mins, disconnected it, left for 30 mins, before restoring the power.

The only changes I can see inside to reflect a hard reset (and no idea if there should be more) is that the time and date reset to 12:01, 1/1/2009. The other settings, like audio tone settings, remained as I set them. Is this correct for a hard reset?

Also, the phone dial thing continues after I pair the phone again.......

I have the car booked to have parking sensors checked under warranty next week, so will see if this can be investigated too, but I am not sure what else to try. Is there a fuse you can pull for the infotainment/bluetooth modules?

Have you tried a different phone, to negate the phone?

Good idea, I went out to try this, and it showed the same symptom. I then rebooted my original phone and re-paired it to the car - hey presto. Now seems to work, and also the audio for calls is now coming from the car.

Not sure if the glitch was my phone having caused a error in the car system..... but seems ok for now. Cheers all for input!
