Phone calls...

I am aware I don't get onto the forum as much as I used to, PM's take a while to get through and replied to, and I don't mind the odd phone call now and then from forum members with an urgent issue, I have to draw the line someplace. This line was drawn for me a couple of weeks back, with a call from a forum member at 5:45 in the morning...

Said member was around 350 miles away, with a non-starting Disco 3, and looking for advice

Please keep any calls to a more reasonable time of day...

Which also leads me onto another issue. I am getting phone calls from all over the country, from garages who are looking for advice, and remote diagnostics. These calls are becoming more and more frequent, and they will be stopping.
If you need any help over the phone, you will need to give me your forum username, otherwise you will not receive any help (unless you are already a customer of mine)

I don't mean to sound like an Censored , but I have to do something about it, while still helping forum members out where possible Thumbs Up

Mikey you have a bussiness to run and these calls obviously tie up your time, time you do not receive payment for, I think what you have said is fair and resonable.

DM - don't blame you.

Very fair in my view - more and more people just seem to take the p*** these days.

Do like I do, set your phone on silent between 10pm and 7am.

Anyone who would really need to get in touch in an emergency has my landline number Thumbs Up

I fully agree DM! I would have been less than helpful at that time of morning! I didn't think a forum member would be so inconsiderate and rude to another member! Whistle

Geesie. I even work out what the time is before trying to speak to you from Baku!!

Totally agree,

Maybe get one of those virtual office places Mike where a woman takes all your calls so you have a period each day of just dealing with , bookings, enquiries from home as part of the working day plan Thumbs Up

That or you will have to pay the wife as the company sectarian more money to become full time.

No one will dare phone her out of hours Razz

As I have my phone off for large periods of time when dealing with business I encourage people to use the SMS instead of voice. One can reply when convenient once one has stopped driving, torquing, peeing or whatever might have been interupted by a voice call.
