Petromax HK500 Lamp

I was lucky enough to get a lovely Petromax lamp as a birthday present and wondered if anyone else on here used them and had any fuel recommendations or tips?

When I searched I see I am in illustrious, or perhaps infamous company with Discotres being an owner as well Embarassed

Now off out for a birthday lunch, but sadly the Discovery with be remaining at home as it's broken Big Cry

Paraffin is becoming difficult to find so perhaps these run on petrol insted. That used to be a recipe for disaster with a Tilly.

Russell it does still use a mantle, I just haven't got around to putting it together as yet and with the weekend I'm having I'm not touching it!!!

At least a bit of glow in the dark radio activity should help with the light output! But thanks for the tip.

So far it's been a great birthday weekend, yesterday I broke the Discovery, then today left the handbrake off my wife's 2 week old Golf convertible (muddy field thankfully stopped it really moving) and spilt coffee over the dog.
