Petrol FBH air into cabin

Hi Folks

I'm curious if anyone has a suggestion how to achieve the following:

I plan on camping in the back of my D3 V8. I would like the option of having a petrol powered FBH to hot air into the cabin. Has anyone come across a good way of getting the air into the cabin?

Its not a killer if theres no nice way of doing so, but wanted to ask.

finding a petrol FBH would be the hardest I think

I'd be tempted to get some of those Nakategena grills I think and run the unit outside the car from its own fuel tank then pipe the hot air back in
 05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system
12 RRS SDV6 HSE (Hers) - Gone and replaced with an I Pace - I can tell you now EV is not the future yet

Easy.... same as the diesel version... with a Webasto IPCU...

Use this manual from Webasto:

What you also need is basically fitting the proper petrol heater and waterpump in the coolant system, and add a correct fuelpump in the fuel system (tank)

I have a brand new petrol FBH here on the shelf if you want... maybe a correct dosingpump (i have to look) and i am sure i have a few waterpumps brand new..

You can make the loom youself very eassily, i have the wiring diagramms..... plugs are in the forum shop ( i think..)

OR fit a webasto airtop if engine preheating is not important, only camping, cabin warmth . airtops are easyer on your battery, because the electrical car system does not have to be “online” for proper functioning (fan is integrated then) and... and you can run it from a second auxiliary battery.. which is smart to do...

A Airtop = the heat exchanger itself..... there is also a fan integrated which blows air...

Since it is a very small room to be heated, for a Airtop 2000 that is, you do not have a need for more than one air output... the apparatus itself Wink

On the underside is a fuel inlet and a exhaust exit, so basically 2 small holes in the floor...
and the only thing inside is a half a shoebox.....

You can also fit a thermostat to the airtop in the cabin...if you implement that also, it is by far easyer and cheaper to than a waterunit like the thermotop series and uses less electricity (because of the no need for the car blower)

So the airtop is just a standard FBH like the chinese diesel heaters that just burn diesel and have a fan blowing over the case?

I do not understand your statement.....

No idea what you mean with “the Chinese Diesel heaters”

Airtops are both availabe in petrol and diesel..

Webasto and or Eberspaecher are advanced and proper tested units/A+ Brands

Since the unit is IN the cabin itself... i would never fit a (ali) chinese unit in the same space as where i or anyone else sleeps or even sits.... (risk carbondioxide / leaks, other horror scenarios)

As i do not believe in an afterlife, my time here is precious
I advice you to be very cautious about what you use there...
