peak district

Well,we are back from our week in the marvellous Peak district..what a super area, and we had half decent weather.more than enough to see and do all week.
snake pass, derwent valley.goyt valley and many miles of lanes.
never been before so every corner was a new experience,
the D4 never faultered, clicking over the 2000 mile mark from new...rolling down the m5/6 with the AV Fuel reading anything from 38 to 41.
stayed part at the Palace in Buxton....old victorian hotel with super public areas...sadly the room was dated and tired with a dreadful bathroom arrangement for a 4 star.had the last nite in the best western lee wood....3 star but what a fabulous little hotel...ample parking in both..we will be going again for sure

The palace is a dump, I've only stopped in Ii once a real let down, the Lee wood is far better better finished rooms etc, if you go again take a look at The Old Hall, only small but in the centre by the opera house and gardens.

I have an office in a Buxton so we use hotels there quite a bit, the Lee Wood is the most popular for business stays Thumbs Up
