Passenger side wet carpet
I’ve had a wet carpet for a couple of weeks now, had a look today and found a block of wood under the sodden carpet??
My carpet is only wet on the base, it hasn’t trickled down the bulkhead as that’s bone dry, has anyone any ideas as to what might be causing it?

So I pulled the outer A pillar trim off and this is what the windscreen fitter had left
Some clips were still in the trim.
The sponge on this side was soaking though
This seal was split, hard and perished though, any factor you think?

I would say you have found the leak - now the block of wood, well that's different they could be looking for that.

Pete,
I had the drain pipe elbow leak and it took some weeks to dry out. I put a couple of bits of 2x1 edge on under the carpet to try to create an air space to speed the drying process.
Does look like you've found your leak and the fix looks a lot easier than the drain elbow.

So....
My leak wasn’t my clips, thinking about it, it was a long shot anyway as they were sealed pretty well apart from one.
I decided to take the seat out, carpet out to dry etc and replace the drain tube. I will never do this again, bitch of a job doing the cjb removal etc.
I’m pleased I did it though, here’s what my tube looked like, totally perished and definitely my leak (hopefully)
And what it should look like
To get to all this I had to remove lots though!!
This is how wet my floor was, it had ran all the way to the rear also
It wasn’t particularly hard, just time consuming, remove battery first and definitely plug the transmition plug bag in before you restart, otherwise you’ll have to take the console apart again once you’ve stopped panicking

Hi Pete,
Sorry hear it was the drain elbow. Great job well done. I remember I felt like a million dollars having sorted mine. Stick your chest out that man

I bit the bullet and did mine last night. I was quite pleased with myself after thinking I was in for an all nighter. It took me 90 minutes from start to finish to remove the cjb, replace the hose and put it all back together.
Fingers crossed we stay dry now

If it was my drain hose it would only be on the near side that was soaked I assume ,both side of the car had a lot of water in where the wires run from front to back cheers tony
