Passenger electric window very slow to come up |
|
Hey guys
I have a 2011 d4 and as the subject suggests the passenger window is extremely slow to come up, i feel it's close to stalling.
Is this a known problem, any tips?
Car has done 80k kms if that's helpful
Thanks, Luke

How slow is slow Luke?
It'll be either the regulator is full of dust and crap, and requires a clean and lubrication, or the motor is dying. I've seen driver's side motors dying, but not passenger side.
Take the door card off, and take the regulator out, instructions here http://workshop-manuals.com/landrover/lr3/...and_motor/
You'll see where has been greased in the past. Clean and regrease. If that doesn't work, then a new motor will, though you may be better off buying the motor and regulator assembly.

I just tried to put the window up, after twice going back down and 30 seconds later it has decided to stop working altogether
Looks like a job for the weekend. Any ideas where you can get cheap motors from?

Give Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide a call. They can get stuff to you pretty fast.

Thanks gents, I'll have a good look at it over the weekend. I almost never put the window down anyway but nice to know I can!
