Went to open the passenger door this morning, jammed. locked- unlocked, still will not open.
Key fob button, dash button, and unlock button on door, - all no good. the rest of the doors fine.
You can hear the solenoid working, and the button on the door move very slightly from the locked position, then goes back.
Any suggestions ?

I had this problem not long after I got my D3, you will need to let the dealer have a look at it - mine had to have a new latch fitted.
There is a temporary fix though (at least it worked on mine), if you pull the interior lock button at the same time as pressing the door unlock button on the dash it should unlock.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Tried that Woody - no good, in the end, I tried the emergency lock on the outside, that worked, now I can't lock it.
Called LRA, they said they couldn't fix it and they can't get to the lock without taking the glass out (I took the door panel off, and they could be right ) 1/2 hour later lorry turned up to take my disco away, - but no car for me. if I needed on I would have to get a taxi to the car rental, to pick up a Laguna.
Needless to say it still outside with SWMBO's car tight up against it.
Will be at the stealers early tomorrow.

Up date - took it into Stratstones Wolverhampton today, no real explanation, but they have fitted a new door latch.
Also washed the car, and the mats and blacked the tyres.
I am happy again.
