When you say it's not the rack do you mean the bellows aren't filled with fluid?
I had a hairline crack in the main body of the rack that was, at first, impossible to see, despite having enough fluid loss to cover the whole area, on my first D3.

There did seem to be a problem with this crack on quite a few early D3s.

I intend to clean all the spill up.. and get an assistant to put the wheel on full lock while I poke and prod the general area Thumbs Up

Is it only on full lock? If so, it's quite likely to be the pump

Holy thread revival batman Shocked

I don't mean to be that guy, but having trawled the depths of the forum, this is the only post I can find that suits my symptoms.

I have a leak from the pump location, it's definitely from the area of the PAS pump on the left hand side of the engine (RHD TCV6)

I have a pump on the way, but if its just the banjo bolt I will be most upset if it turns out I didn't have to worry about the difficult to reach bolt and I just needed a couple of washers.

I can't see where it's coming from on account of the fluid immediately soaking the pulley and spraying everywhere.

I had a massive PAS leak, turned out to be the flexi pipe from the pump, the viscous fan had chewed a hole in it!

Thanks for the reply Richard.. mine seemed to be the pump after all...

It seemed there must have been massive Internal leakage at the pump and when the rack reached the end of its lock, the pump would dump fluid. I see nothing wrong with the old one, but have fitted a second hand one today and it has sorted it 👍

You know, just in the interest of coming back and updating the threads with solutions for future generations.

Now to reasrmbe the rest of the car around the PAS pump 😅
