Parking Sensors - Long Beep and Flashing Light |
|
Just about says it all really. Started yesterday, select reverse and instead of a short beep to warn the PDC is active, I get a long high pitched beep from the back followed by no more beeps and the PDC light flashes on the dash
Now also happens when I slow down to stop (going forwards) and the sensors try to activate Have tried washing the sensors to see if it's road salt, but no success.
Any suggestions before I trot off to the stealer? Sail Fast - Live Slow...

I had the same when I removed one of my sensors to fit the RWC . So my guess would be a faulty sensor . Off to the dealer you go I'm afraid

I have the same problem since off roading in deep mud. Now only happens in wet weather. Probably a corroded connection. Dealer job at the next service. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

Mine does this if I wash it or if there's heavy rain. When I get half an hour I'll pop the bumper off and check all the connections as water is obviously getting in to one of the sensors. IIRC, the handbook does warn against directing water at the sensors on your roughty, toughty 4x4. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Spent most of the afternoon washing mine yesterday.
This morning it was very frosty and when i put mine in reverse it had a continuous beep.
After about 5 miles i stopped at the garage and tryed it again ..it all worked fine . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks guys,
Haven't washed the car in about 2-3 weeks, perhaps it's a build up of road salt. Seemed to get upset on the days when we had snow and ice?
Seems to be intermittently OK/Broken today. Will get the stealer to check it when I have a moment.
